Graphically challenged

As you may have noticed, I have made some changes here at TG.com with the colors and layout. As you may have also noticed, I suck at this.

I am soliciting ideas for new color schemes, layouts, and doohickies that will wow my readers and enrich their lives. Comments, please...

While it's an honor to be the brother of the greatness, I do have to agree that the graphic organization is pretty lack-luster. I think I liked the old page better with the photoshopped "Chris Darden" article as the background for the greatness text. If you want to stay with the margin idea, we can work on punching it up a bit to put a shadow behind your centrally located content. Also, I think the uses of different texts are a bit distracting graphically. Yes, it is fine to use different texts, but at the same time, they have to be complementary, and I'm not sure that the text selections do that...

Yeah, Chris Darden was good times. I totally agree with your comments. I'll be cowardly and say that I gave up with the fonts because Movable Type has so many damn stylesheet definitions... but they obviously need serious work. *I* find the text difficult to read, so I know more discerning tastes must find it appalling.
